Career ambassadors

Careers ambassadors attend schools, colleges and job fairs giving information to students and adults on careers within the council as well as taking part in industry days and mock interviews.

There are currently 55 ambassadors from across all our departments representing careers as diverse as:

  • social workers
  • social care workers
  • accountants
  • solicitors
  • human resources
  • business services
  • property officers
  • trading standards
  • and many more

Ambassadors occasionally attend schools and colleges to give specific talks on subjects such as health and social care, recruitment, public services, and some have also been student mentors.

Recent recruits to the scheme are 4 newly qualified apprentices who will be attending schools events as ‘apprentice ambassadors’.

If you're a member of staff and you can spare a few hours a year to visit local schools and attend careers and job fair events to talk about your job and career opportunities with us you can complete and return the application form attached to this page.

If you're a teacher who would like to arrange a visit to a school or college from a careers ambassador or to take part in your careers event please contact Rachel Edinboro, email:
