Corporate Services and Transformation is very much the 'engine room' of the council, supporting and enabling the hugely important services which the council delivers to our residents and communities.
This is both a combination of the work that every one of us does each day, and the skills we have as a whole council team to deliver those services as well as we can. As part of making sure that the council has all the skills it needs to deliver its services and adapt for the future, we are creating a new transformation and strategy division in corporate services and transformation. I am sure you will all have been part of change programmes at some point, so you will know that they are a continuous part of what we do.
We plan to appoint a Director of Transformation and Strategy, with surrounding roles being put in place to deliver large scale projects and programmes for the council. We will be using best practise methods, commonly used across the public and private sector (PRINCE2, Managing Successful Programmes and Management of Portfolios) and we intend to train internal staff in these methods to deliver our projects and programmes successfully. I would encourage all of you who are interested in being a part of the council's approach to transformation and strategy to look out for the more detailed updates that will follow in the coming months.
