Learning at Work Week 2026

15 May 2026

Next week is Learning at Work Week and this year’s theme being Many Ways to Learn .

The week is your opportunity to look at new ways to learn, build new skills, and explore different ways of developing both individually and together.

From 18 to 24 May,  we’re  encouraging everyone to make space for learning as part of the working day. Whether it’s  benchmarking practice, reading an article on  emerging  trends, listening to a podcast, or reflecting with colleagues on lessons learned, there are many simple ways to build learning into what you already do.

Throughout the week, our SharePoint sites will have news articles packed with practical ideas to help make learning part of everyday work. These will:

  • offer quick, actionable tips
  • highlight learning linked to our values
  • encourage new ways of thinking
  • support you to try something different.

In addition, Derbyshire Adult Community Education is promoting a range of opportunities including tasters, short workshops, and full courses designed to support skills for work, life and wellbeing.

Bringing learning to life through our values

  • Collaborative: “We learn better together”  Work alongside your team to share ideas, reflect on experiences, and explore best practice. Learning is most powerful when  it’s  shared.
  • Innovative: “Try it, test it, learn from it”  Keep exploring and be open to new ideas. Experiment, embrace change, and see every experience, successes and setbacks alike as a chance to learn.
  • Empowered: “Learning starts with me”  Take ownership of your development. Set aside time to learn and recognise that learning happens every day, not only in formal courses.
  • Accountable: “Learning makes a difference”  Put learning into action. Reflect on  what’s  working well, what could improve, and what  you will stop,  start  or continue doing as a result.
