A new Executive Director of Place is appointed

26 February 2021

We are delighted to confirm that our Executive Director of Place, Chris Henning, is expected to join the council in early summer 2021.

Chris joins us from Nottingham City Council where he is currently Corporate Director of Development and Growth.

Chris has outstanding experience, having led economic, transport and place development over the last seven years at Nottingham City and having previously worked in Government at the Department of Trade & Industry (now the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy) and in a consultancy role in the private sector.

Chris joins us at a time when the Economy, Transport and Environment department (ETE) is renamed as ‘Place’ to recognise the breadth and focus of our work with our communities and he brings significant expertise and knowledge to Derbyshire at a time of opportunity and change.

Tim Gregory, our current interim Director of Economy, Transport and Environment leaves us in May and has the enormous thanks of our councillors, leadership team and staff for the significant work he has done for Derbyshire over the last seven months.
