Our review of the overall HR function continues to make sure it’s fit for the future and reflects both the council’s strategic priorities and our enterprising approach, however we are implementing some initial changes from 30 March 2020.
Our HR team will be made up of five key functions:
- HR Operations
- Reward and Resourcing
- Learning and Development
- Health, Safety and Wellbeing
- HR Shared Services
The key change from 30 March 2020 is within our newly formed HR Operations Team. For line managers accessing HR support, this team will be your main point of contact through our HR business partner network or through the advice and support team.
The HR business partner network is made up of Senior HR business partners who will work with each directorate alongside a small team of HR business partners. Their role is to provide support at a strategic level to enable transformational change, workforce planning, talent management and industrial relations, calling on the support of specialists in the other HR functions as necessary. They will also be supported by a dedicated resourcing manager for each directorate.
Our advice and support team will support directorates by providing a first point of contact for advice, guidance and case management related to all employee relations matters.
Our new approach will deliver more consistency to our provision of HR support across all directorates and provide a more customer focused approach.
Appointments to our senior leadership team have now been confirmed along with the Senior HR business partners. We will share details of the HR business partners and advice and support team supporting directorates as soon as possible.
