These changes are expected to be live on 28 October 2024, the key points to note are:
- more emphasis on delivering value for money and maximising public benefit
- less prescriptive and more flexible procedures including a new competitive flexible procedure allowing you to ‘tailor your procedure’ to your procurement needs
- inclusion of contract management such as the requirement for some contracts to publish KPIs and supplier performance against these KPIs
- significant additional transparency requirements such as publishing contract change notices and contract termination notices – even if the contract naturally ends.
If you work in procurement or your work touches on procurement (finance, legal, contract managers, specialist advisers and commissioners) you need to understand and keep up to date with these changes.
Please view ‘The Official Transforming Public Procurement Knowledge Drops’ for contracting authorities parts 1 to 6. The training is in the form of 6 YouTube video clips and combined should last for approximately 55 minutes. If the opportunity arises, please share the changes and the link with your suppliers.
