Black History Month

13 October 2026

Join our BME employee network group, Chesterfield African Caribbean Association and local community partners for an event to mark Black History Month.

The event will proudly welcome people who have made history in our local emergency services including the first Black firefighter to serve with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service in the early 1980s, as well as one of the first Black police constables serving during the same period.

The event is in the Members’ Room at County Hall between 10am and 2pm on 29 October.
