Booking British Sign Language interpreters

Arrangements for booking British Sign Language interpreters will change from 1 October 2022. 


If you work in Adult Social Care and Public Health, this will now fall under a new contract with Action Deafness. This contract replaces the contract with Communication Unlimited which will expire on 30 September 2022.

If you work in Corporate Services and Transformation, Childrens Services or Place, you will be able to use either Action Deafness or Communication Unlimited.

The cost of using interpreters will now have to be paid for from department or service budgets and you will need to raise a purchase order as part of the process of making a booking.
