Celebrating Pride Month

20 June 2024

Pride Month takes place every year in June and is designed to recognise the influence of the LGBTQ+ community and raise awareness of the issues the community faces.

As a demonstration of support, we will be flying the Progress Pride flag at County Hall on Friday 28 June 2024 which coincides with International Pride Day. If you’d like to show your support, you can also use the Progress Pride Teams background in your meetings.

Our Pride network is one of our employee network groups that exists to offer a safe space for peer to peer support and discusses and represents the views of employees in matters of sexual orientation and gender identity. Membership is open to all employees who support the aims of the network and are keen to help raise the profile of LGBT+ people within the workforce. If you’d like more information about joining, visit the pride network webpage or email pride.network@derbyshire.gov.uk

Members of our Pride network and representatives from some of our services will be attending local Pride celebrations in Chesterfield on Sunday 21 July 2024 and Pride in Belper on Saturday 3 August 2024 so please stop by and say hello if you’re there.

Details of other celebratory and commemorative dates can be found in our diversity and inclusion calendar.
