Celebrating Women's History Month and International Women's Day

15 February 2024

March is Women’s History Month and this year International Women’s Day takes place on Friday 8 March 2024.

There are a number of events taking place to inspire inclusion and you can find details of some of those events.

Our Managing Director, Emma Alexander, will be hosting an event to talk about her career journeys and help inspire others. Look out for more details over the coming weeks.

Introduction to Derbyshire Record Office

Derbyshire Record Office is offering colleagues the opportunity to find out about the work they do and the collections they hold. Take a tour of the office, including behind the scenes, and view a display of archive material from their collections focusing on women.

There are 10 places available per session:

  • Wednesday 13 March 2024 from 2pm to 3.30pm
  • Wednesday 20 March 2024 from 10am to 11.30am

If you would like to attend you can book a place, email record.office@derbyshire.gov.uk.

You can find directions to the Derbyshire Record Office. Attendees are asked to use the County Hall car park and not the record office car park.

Chesterfield equality and diversity forum

The Chesterfield Equality and Diversity Forum invites you to join them for a morning of inspiration at the Town Hall.

This year they will be welcoming Theresa Peltier who is Derbyshire’s High Sheriff for 2023 to 2024, who will be talking about her passion for equality, diversity and social justice.

The event will take place in Committee Room 1 at Chesterfield Town Hall on Friday 8 March 2024 from 9.45am to 11.45am.

Places are free but are limited. To book a place please email policyteam@chesterfield.gov.uk and let the team know if you have any accessibility requirements.
