The Baton of Hope is the UK's largest suicide prevention initiative, and those affected or bereaved by suicide in some way carry the baton across a dedicated leg with stops along the way for events, activities, and entertainment.
"I felt extremely honoured to carry the Baton of Hope, as honestly I didn't think I'd be selected. It has bought back memories of when I was struggling to cope with life and the things I did to try and end it. But to know where I am now and how far I have come, I am proud of myself. To know my brother died by suicide, I wish I could have talked to him to let him know what I went through, but I was too late. I hope he is at peace, and we miss him so much. I'm so grateful to be a part of such an amazing cause!"
