We started running climate change courses in 2021 as part of our climate strategy.
The strategy sets out where in the county our carbon emissions come from and what needs to change to address this.
The courses give staff the chance to find out what we can do – at work and at home.
There are face to face and online sessions, led by our climate change officer, Tom Veitch. They will last 2 hours and are designed to provide you with:
- an understanding of the science of climate change and the likely changes in global and local climates
- the key actions which need to be taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to a changing climate
- knowledge of how you can support the council in reducing emissions and preparing for a changing climate
Dates for the sessions are:
- Wed 8 Feb 2023, 10am to midday – in person
- Thur 20 April 2023, 1pm to 3pm – online – session now full
- Fri 26 May 2023, 10:30am to 12:30pm – online
- Mon 19 June 2023, 12:30pm to 2:30pm – in person
