Contract management – why it matters

It's not rocket science to say poor contract management costs businesses money and exposes them to risk.

Having a clear and standardised Contract Management Framework (CMF) will help us to deliver value for money, drive innovation, bring savings, improve performance, and mitigate risk.

We will be adopting a CMF across the council with County Procurement, Compliance team taking the lead on implementing it over the next 12 to 18 months.

This new agreed approach will help and support employees with contract management responsibilities to manage their contracts more effectively by providing training, guidance, and a Contract Management Handbook.

More communication is planned to keep you informed about the progress of CMF project but also to introduce the Compliance Team who will be your ‘go to’ for help and support. If we do not have the answers you seek, we will collaborate with you to find a solution.
