Core mandatory learning update

Following changes to the mandatory learning requirements, here’s another quick reminder of what’s now on the list and how often you need to complete the courses:
All colleagues:
- Fire safety awareness – annually.
- Information governance – annually.
- Cyber security awareness – annually. Only needs to be completed by those with a council email address.
- Fraud prevention – every 3 years.
- Prevent (counter terrorism) – every 2 years.
- Equality, diversity, and inclusion – one off.
- Introduction to health and safety – one off.
- Personal safety level 1 – one off.
- Safeguarding – one off. Needs to be completed by CST and Place colleagues only. More in-depth safeguarding learning is undertaken in Adult Social Care and Health and Childrens Services.
All people managers and / or senior leaders:
- Introduction to managing attendance and sickness absence – annually.
- Manager’s guide to supporting employees with wellbeing – every 3 years. The introduction video from Emma Alexander is under review following Emma leaving the council and a new version will be live soon.
- Recruitment and selection – one off.
- Local government basics – one off.
- Decision-making basics – one off. Needs to be completed by colleagues who are 2 reporting lines below assistant director and above. This will not appear in your mandatory learning list but the course can be found on Derbyshire Learning Pool.
You’ll receive enrolment emails from Digital Learning Online (DLO) to let you know that you’ve been enrolled on the new programme.
Any course you’ve already completed will not require recompletion until you reach your next recertification is due.
