Corporate services and transformation reorganisation

11 December 2023

Corporate services and transformation are today announcing some important changes to their structure that will take place with immediate effect.

Key to these changes is the creation of a new director of digital role and the transition to standalone ICT function, which currently sits within our finance and ICT division.

This new role will allow the council to move forward with the development and implementation of its digital and ICT strategies and identify a new operating model for the ICT service. This new role will replace the (currently vacant) director of transformation and strategy position.

The team previously led under the director of transformation and strategy (policy and strategy, and portfolio management and transformation) will move into a newly formed directorate under Jen Skila, the current director of organisation resilience, people and communications.

Jen will now lead - as director of people and organisational change - our HR, communications and customer, portfolio management and transformation, and strategy and policy teams within this division.

In addition to this, the community safety service will be leaving the new people and organisational change team and becoming part of public health, which sits in the adult social care and health (ASCH) department.

This is because it has been identified that several of community safety's statutory and non-statutory duties have joint responsibilities with ASCH and therefore operational and strategic advantages could be gained by realigning the service to sit under public health.
