Could you support the running of elections?

10 June 2024

The next general election takes place on 4 July 2024 and many district and borough councils are looking for colleagues to take on roles at polling stations.

Vacancies for both presiding officers and poll clerks

Derbyshire Dales District Council has vacancies for both presiding officers and poll clerks throughout the Derbyshire Dales and the Hatton and Hilton areas of South Derbyshire. Online training will be provided and polling station staff would be required to work from 6.15am to 10.30pm.

For more information about these vacancies, including rates of pay, please contact Chris Bond email chris.bond@derbyshiredales.gov.uk explaining which post you are interested in and if you have any prior experience.

For information about potential election vacancies in other areas, please visit the district or borough council website where you'd like to work.

You will need to use annual or flexi leave if you wish to take on one of the roles during your normal working hours. It is important that you check with your line manager and get approval to apply for the time off before applying for an election role.
