Council elections 2021

5 March 2021

The county council’s elections will be held on Thursday 6 May and the results of all 64 council seats will be announced on Friday 7 May.

It is also the election for the Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner on 6 May.

You can find out more about the elections on our website and how to register or get a postal or proxy vote.

During the weeks running up to an election, from 26 March, there are some guidelines the council needs to follow by law.

As a general rule these restrictions do not affect the vast majority of employees and it is business as usual in almost all areas of the council’s work.

If, as part of your job, you organise publicity, events, public consultations or you manage a council social media account you should familiarise yourself with the pre-election rules on the Our Derbyshire website.
