Teams is full of exciting features and functions but to begin with, we are only making some of those features available to everyone. This will make learning to use Teams more manageable and allows us time to introduce any necessary guidance.
Some of the features of Teams will seem similar to those many of you have been using in Skype but Teams will be replacing Skype in the near future.
As soon as you have Teams installed, you'll be able to benefit from the following tools.
Make audio and video calls
Search for and call anyone across the council from your laptop or PC. You can choose whether to use the video function or not and have the option to blur or change your background.

Chat and file sharing
Instant message one-to-one or with a group, hop on a video call, or share a screen for fast-paced decision making.

Schedule, hold, join and record a meeting
Meet with individuals or groups from within the council or from external organisations. You can manage these meetings though the calendar in Teams which is connected to your Outlook calendar.

You can show your desktop, a specific app, presentation, or any file to others while in a meeting. This can help you to explain things or get quick decisions made.

Create and broadcast live events within the organisation.

You'll soon be able to request a 'Team' within the app which will allow you work collaboratively with a group of people both internal and external to the organisation (on a focused area of work).
This will allow you to build a thread of comments, questions and decisions on a particular topic, store files linked to the project and use planner to manage tasks.
