Find out more about how to identify and tackle fraud

21 November 2025

To mark International Fraud Awareness Week 2025, we have launched a new fraud awareness e-learning module. This considers how changing societal views about what is 'right' and 'wrong' impacts upon the likelihood of fraud occurring and dives into threats from inside the organisation, identify theft and social care fraud

The e-learning is now available on Derbyshire Learning Online and is mandatory for finance and highways colleagues. It is also available for completion by all colleagues who wish to enhance their fraud awareness. Just search for 'fraud' and all available modules will appear.

This training enhances our existing fraud prevention arrangements which include:

  • anti-fraud and anti-corruption strategy which details our zero tolerance for fraud and corruption and your responsibilities in relation to fraud prevention and detection
  • whistleblowing policy and associated referral process where individuals can raise concerns about potential wrongdoing
  • maintenance of robust systems and controls to prevent fraud happening and identify when it does

Please remain vigilant to the risk of fraud and remember, if you have any concerns, or if something just doesn't feel right, please contact internal audit at reportfraud@derbyshire.gov.uk or telephone: 01629 533334 to discuss it further.
