There are 8 sessions each week, covering different areas and abilities. They are all free to attend via Microsoft Teams. You can book onto the live session or watch the recording at a later date.
Before you can take part, you will have to complete a screening form. Once you have been registered you will be sent a Teams invite for the session. Invites will be sent on a weekly basis either the evening before or on the morning of the session.
All our sessions are with fully qualified, experienced instructors:
Mondays, 1pm to 1.30pm: 'Legs, bums and tums'
This is a workout that aims to tone up and strengthen your thighs, bum (glutes) and stomach. Great for those who want to lose weight/waist, tone up these specific areas of the body, or who simply want to improve their fitness levels and muscular endurance.
Tuesdays, 1pm to 1.30pm: HIIT (high intensity interval training)
A quick way to burn excess calories in a small space. Short bursts of high intensity cardio with low intensity exercises in between. Beginners are given alternatives if required.
Wednesdays, 12.15pm to 12.45pm: Chair-based exercise
These sessions are predominantly seated but may include some optional standing exercises. If you are new to exercise and or feel that you are unsteady on your feet then these are the sessions for you.
Wednesdays, 6pm to 6:45pm: Pilates
These sessions will involve a series of exercises performed on the floor using gravity and your own body weight to provide resistance. The main aim is to increase muscle strength and tone, particularly of your abdominal muscles, lower back, hips and glutes – the 'core muscles' of your body.
Thursdays, 12.30pm to 1pm: Yoga
This yoga class is recommended for beginners and all levels. It’s aimed to be simple and provides non-intimidating options for newer students.
This is a gentle class focusing on postures to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body and linking the movement with the breath.
Basic breathing techniques are incorporated within the class and there is full body relaxation at the end.
Thursdays, 1pm to 1.30pm: Pilates
Details are the same as Wednesday’s session.
Fridays, 8.15am to 8.45am: 'Core and More'
This is a fun session to end the week, targeting those core muscles with a mix of all over body workout and toning, incorporating some floor-based core exercises.
Alternatives are given if required.
Fridays, midday to 12.30pm: Yoga
Details are the same as Thursday’s session.
These sessions cater for all abilities so please give it a try. If you want to work really hard or take it easy, the instructors will adapt the session accordingly.
