Get Ready for Copilot Chat – Launching 1 September

We’re switching on Copilot Chat, Microsoft’s AI-powered assistant, across the council on 1 September 2025.

This rollout gives everyone access to the free version that comes with our Microsoft licence. It’s a powerful tool that can help you:

• draft messages and content
• summarise information
• brainstorm ideas
• ask questions and get answers fast
• replace your internet searches

This move comes after careful planning, updated data protection policies, and data protection impact assessment. We’re confident Copilot Chat can safely enhance the way we work.

We’ll be hosting a number of workshops to help you make the most of it and we'll be sharing more updates, tips, and upcoming workshop dates over the coming weeks.
