Helen joined us in August 2018 following a 17-year career with Nottingham City Council where she held a number of social care directorship roles. Helen has decided after 4 and a half years with the council to pursue a portfolio career within the NHS and social care sector which will allow her to spend more time on her other community passions including legacy work for her daughter and improving the wellbeing of neurodivergent children.
Helen has worked tirelessly during her time at Derbyshire, with great skill during what has been a challenging period. Helen has steered the council's public health and social care teams to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Alongside the huge challenges of a global pandemic, Helen has worked behind the scenes with colleagues from NHS organisations to deliver an 'integrated care system' – a fundamental change in the way health and care services are organised in Derbyshire for the benefit of local people for generations to come.
Helen continues to be a passionate advocate at the highest levels for equality, diversity and inclusion and has championed mental health and wellbeing support for our employees. Helen remains committed to supporting colleagues across her team for the remainder of her time with us and recruitment plans will commence in the new year to source Helen's replacement.
The organisation thanks Helen for her dedicated service and unwavering passion for delivering great service for our colleagues, residents and partners.
We wish Helen all the very best for the future.
