Help spread the word about our Heartwood Forest event

23 January 2025

Did you know grants are available through Derbyshire’s Heartwood Community Forest for landowners, farmers and communities in eastern and southern Derbyshire to plant trees and hedgerows, boost biodiversity and tackle climate change?

We’re holding a free online event for landowners and other interested groups to find out more on Tuesday 25 February from 6pm to 7pm.

Derbyshire’s Heartwood Community Forest

Derbyshire’s Heartwood Community Forest, funded by England’s Community Forests as part of Defra’s Nature for Climate programme, aims to provide more green space to Derbyshire residents, particularly in areas with less woodland, supporting our ambition to plant a million trees by 2030.

Trees can enhance wildlife, mitigate flood risks, absorb noise and capture carbon, and the Heartwood team is here to support landowners with 100% funding for all the costs of woodland creation, including:

  • tree planting
  • hedgerows
  • fencing and gate installation
  • advice and support
  • ongoing maintenance for up to 15 years to ensure the new woodland thrives.

Please help to spread the word about our online event.
