In line with our lone worker guidance, departments have identified employees whose roles involve a higher level of lone working risk.
If you are one of these employees, depending on your role, you will receive either a personal safety device or access to the Peoplesafe app. If you raise an alarm, you will be connected to the Peoplesafe alarm receiving centre, where trained controllers will assess the situation and arrange an appropriate response.
Find out more about how Peoplesafe works.
What happens next?
Devices have been set up and allocated to applicable employees and have started to be distributed together with access to user guidance, including videos and written guides, as well as access to a help centre. The lone working guidance and lone working generic risk assessment template will also be updated.
Personal safety and managing challenging situations course
In addition, a course on personal safety and managing challenging situations is now available to book as a webinar on Derbyshire Learning Online. It will help you to empower yourself with the skills to stay safe in challenging situations, learn to recognise warning signs, de-escalate conflict, respond to risk, and apply effective lone working practices.
