Lunch and learn – Celebrating Inspirational Women

3 March 2025

Did you know that at the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is roughly 5 generations from now, to reach full gender parity, according to data from the World Economic Forum?

The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day which takes place on Saturday 8 March 2025 is #Accelerate Action which emphasises the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional worlds.

On Thursday, 6 March 2025 from midday to 1pm there is a lunchtime learning and networking opportunity for colleagues to share ideas, experiences, and explore potential future collaborations.

The session is organised as a part of celebrating International Women’s Day and LGBT+ History Month, in collaboration with employee networks across Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The theme of this year's LGBT History Month is Activism and Social Change and encourages us to reflect on progress made so far in creating more inclusive communities, while acknowledging there is still a lot to be done.

Join us for this engaging conversation to explore ideas how together we can #AccelerateAction.

To take part, join the online Microsoft Teams meeting or email dfrsinclusion@derbys-fire.gov.uk if you prefer to receive a calendar invite.
