Maintaining our covid-secure measures

4 March 2022

Following a review, we’ve decided to maintain our existing COVID-19 secure measures until the end of March when government guidance around covid safety in workplaces is expected to change.

The measures will be reviewed again at the end of March but for now, please continue to follow the control measures set out in the risk assessment for the building you work from or the role you do.

If you are symptomatic and test positive for COVID-19, or if you are unable to test but are symptomatic, you should not use council buildings or carry out face to face roles in line with our existing self-isolation guidance. If your role allows and you are well enough, you can still work from home.

We continue to ask colleagues to take lateral flow tests twice a week if you are regularly working from council buildings. If you're attending on an ad hoc basis, you should take a lateral flow test each time you attend a council building.

Other guidance includes:

  • avoiding close contact with people who you do not normally meet, ideally maintaining 2 metre social distancing
  • keeping rooms well ventilated
  • maintaining good hand hygiene
  • recommending wearing face coverings in all communal areas of council buildings particularly where 2 metre social distancing cannot be maintained, however, this is a personal choice
