Following consultation with departments and teams, the Learning and Organisational Development team presented a refreshed approach to the Corporate Management Team (CMT) in July. The goal? To ensure mandatory learning is:
- essential to your role
- proportionate and purposeful
- beneficial to you and the wider council
- aligned with clear learning outcomes
What’s changing?
CMT has agreed to:
- revise who needs to complete certain existing courses
- update the format in which some courses are delivered
- introduce a new set of mandatory courses over the coming months
Each course has been carefully assessed by Learning and Organisational Development and its owner to identify the most relevant audience. Factors considered include:
- benefit to the individual
- benefit to service users and residents
- risk and benefit to the council
- cost
- time available
- digital accessibility
What to expect
New and updated mandatory courses will begin rolling out soon with a more consistent and easier to follow process for those who carry out learning as part of a team briefing.
