Message of thanks from the Council Leader, Councillor Barry Lewis

14 February 2020

We’ve seen a number of extreme weather events over the past few months and February certainly wasn’t any easier on us.

Tree fallen on road during Storm Ciara

Many of you have been very busy dealing with everything that Storm Ciara and Storm Dennis have thrown at the county. Crews were out in the full force of the storms, working through high winds and torrential rain after reports of fallen trees, flooding incidents and rock fall.

I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who was involved – all working extremely hard in very difficult conditions - to keep the rest of us safe.

Please see my full blog for more about our efforts to keep the country moving and the big clear-up.
