MFA adds an extra layer of protection to keep your accounts and data safe. You may already be using MFA with your online accounts like banking and email.
It prevents scammers from gaining unauthorised access to your account through your password alone, because it adds a second layer of security by sending a verification code to your phone or email, so even if someone knows your password they can't get in without that extra security step.
MFA also unlocks the ability to use Windows Hello, so you can sign into your laptop with a shorter PIN, fingerprint or facial recognition. No more juggling passwords – just a faster, more secure experience.
MFA will be required for all Derbyshire County Council accounts soon, but you can get ahead now by following our helpful MFA guide on the Learning Centre.
