New chat feature added to the Thrive mental wellbeing app

29 July 2022

As part of the work we’re doing to support your wellbeing, we joined up with Thrive – an NHS-approved mental wellbeing app for the prevention, screening and management of anxiety, depression and stress.

We've just included a new feature which all employees can now access through the app – in-app chat. This new feature is available between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday, where you can chat with a qualified Thrive coach about your worries and stress, however big or small. They can help you understand what you are experiencing, put you on the right track towards recovery, hold more structured sessions and signpost you to the most appropriate resources.

As well as this new feature, the app can also:

  • help you tackle common causes of stress such as problems sleeping, bereavements, work issues and more
  • screen for anxiety and depression using NHS-approved assessments
  • signpost to external support services – users can seek immediate help directly from the app

Through the app you can also access a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) programme and seek further support with the touch of a button.

There's also more than 100 hours of content including a range of stress-reducing sessions and a progress journal to help you keep track of your moods and things that trigger stress.

Using the app can help you to build resilience against stress, anxiety and depression at a time and place that suits you.

The app is only available to employees and elected members.
