Ofsted finds we're on track

17 June 2025

Government inspectors have found we have continued to build on our 'Good' Ofsted grading for vulnerable children at risk of harm and in need of help and protection.

Inspectors visited us on 7 and 8 May 2025 to carry out a 'focused' visit of our arrangements specifically for children subject to a child-in-need or child protection plan.

While the report highlights areas where we continue to grow, the feedback affirms that we are on the right path, and it provides a valuable opportunity to build on what we do well.

Councillor Sam Redfern, Cabinet Member for Children and Families, praised the dedication of our teams, stating:

“Importantly for me, inspectors noted our social workers are committed to and have aspirations for the children they work with. I greatly value and recognise their efforts, but most of all I am very proud of all the children and young people across Derbyshire we support.”
