Performance development review update

Some key dates at the start of the new financial year.


  • 31 March: Performance Development Review (PDR) 2024 end of year review meetings should now be complete for all colleagues
  • 1 April: Leadership apprenticeship applications 2025 open for applications
  • 30 April: PDR 2025 start of year meetings complete for leaders
  • 30 May: PDR 2025 start of year meetings complete for all employees
  • 30 May: Please note all validating manager comments for the PDR 2024 end of year cycle should be complete (PDR app users only)

We have different PDR versions as we're a diverse organisation and one approach doesn't fit all job roles. The approach suitable to your employee group can be found on performance development review where templates, guidance and access to the digital app (grade 14 and above senior leaders) can also be found.

PDR App Users can access resources including the PDR Digital App, behaviour framework and the Talent Review process via the Performance Development Review Hub.

Our new values have also been embedded within the PDR process for the 2025/26 performance cycle for all colleagues. This includes a section on how we deliver our goals, demonstrating the need to be Collaborative, Innovative, Empowered and Accountable.

Line managers can also complete the learning request form to propose a request for consideration if there is a gap in a person or team’s learning and there is not already an available solution.

The PDR is a whole approach to discuss, agree, support, and manage performance throughout the year. Value this time and remember, this is a great opportunity to recognise your achievements and look to the future!
