Public health team in record-breaking event

13 February 2026

Our public health team were proud to be part of a Guinness World Record‑breaking event organised by Age UK Derby and Derbyshire and Chesterfield FC Community Trust.

In September, Age UK Derby and Derbyshire and Chesterfield FC Community Trust brought more than 1,100 people together at Chesterfield FC’s stadium for the largest chair‑based exercise session ever recorded. The previous record, set in Hong Kong in 2016, stood at 721 participants.

The event highlighted how physical activity can help reduce falls among older people in our communities.

Age UK Derby and Derbyshire deliver the Live Stronger for Longer Falls Prevention Service on behalf of our public health team. The service offers strength and balance classes for people aged 50+, as well as home‑based resources to help prevent falls and support independence.
