The service will include the national two-minute silence at 11am, and wreaths being laid at the memorial next to the main reception. The names of fallen council officers will also be read out.
The service is being hosted by Chairman Councillor Nick Adams and supported by our Armed Forces Champion Councillor Tony Wilson and Councillor Jason Isherwood.
Staff are invited to watch the service from the landings overlooking the main reception.
The service begins with a small team of cadets from the Long Eaton Sea Cadets marching along the terrace car park into County Hall at 10.30am. They will then line the corridor leading to reception before the service begins, which is expected to be 10.45am, leading to the 11am silence.
The reception area, corridor leading up to the memorial from the front doors and main corridor will be closed off from 10.10am until the service is finished.
The stairs down to reception from the first floor will be closed from 10.10am to allow for photographs to be taken if it is raining, and for the service to be set up.
Colleague Emma Hunt will play the Last Post to mark the start of the two-minutes silence, and she will then play Reveille to break the silence.
Please note that the fire alarm at County Hall will not sound to mark either the start or the end of the period of silence. If you have organised meetings at County Hall during this time on Tuesday morning, please make sure that those attending are aware of the above arrangements, and encourage them to observe the silence.
Vehicles will not be able to enter or leave the terrace section of the car park from 10.15am to 10.45am.
Kind regards
Councillor Nick Adams, Chairman, Derbyshire County Council and Councillor Tony Wilson, Armed Forces Champion.
