Shand House colleagues set to move to County Hall

30 August 2024

Colleagues from Call Derbyshire, Starting Point, the adult care assessment and triage team and the short term assessment and reablement team, who are currently based at Shand House on the A6 in Darley Dale, will be moving into office space at County Hall during mid-September and early October.

We've made the decision to close Shand House to make significant savings on maintenance and running costs, including the need to replace the boiler ahead of the winter. Once colleagues have moved to County Hall, we'll prepare for the building to go on the market.

Space is being made in the south block

Space is being made available for these teams in the south block of County Hall as part of the ongoing north block decommissioning project. As a result, some teams in south block are being asked to make changes to the space people are currently working in. All teams that will be directly impacted by the move have been made aware and we'd like to thank them for working with our asset management and facilities teams to make the necessary changes.

We'd also like to thank those who came to the drop-in session at the end of July to provide feedback on the draft floor plans for south block. A new set of floor plans has been shared with departmental representatives involved with project, and we will be discussing these plans in more detail with heads of service and group managers from each directorate in the coming months.

We will keep you up to date as the project progresses.
