Shining a light on Derbyshire

14 October 2022

A series of spectacular night-time displays of light and sound set against the backdrop of iconic local landmarks is coming back to Derbyshire – and it's bigger and better than ever.

Shine A Light is bringing spectacular large-scale projections to 4 Derbyshire venues with displays celebrating the county's rich heritage this autumn and winter.

Tickets are on sale for the events at Cromford Mills, home of Sir Richard Arkwright's first mill complex, in the UNESCO Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 October 2022, followed by our very own Elvaston Castle Country Park on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November 2022.

Barrow Hill Roundhouse, the last surviving railway roundhouse, near Chesterfield, will host Shine A Light on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 December 2022, and a final display will be held at Bess of Hardwick's Elizabethan country house Hardwick Hall, near Chesterfield, on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 February 2023.

We're working in partnership with the venues to stage the displays, which are designed to help boost the local visitor economy.

Tickets are £9 for adults, £6 for children aged 4-16 inclusive and free for children aged 3 and under.
