The team included colleagues from regeneration, highways design, highways construction services, legal, finance and procurement. Their success is significant following the challenges presented by the scheme when the main contractor, NMCN, went into administration last year.
The new route promises to regenerate the Swadlincote area by providing much needed commercial space, 300 new homes, 3,100 jobs and improvements to road safety and journey times along the busy A511.
