Support to navigate perimenopause and menopause

21 October 2025

October is World Menopause Month. We want to share the different ways you can get information and support to help you navigate the symptoms and issues that can appear during this time of life.

Joined Up Care Derbyshire runs a wide range of sessions that can support with the physical, mental and emotional symptoms of perimenopause and menopause including sessions on shoulder health, self-massage techniques with a menopause focus, a menopause cafe, yoga for menopause, hair and hormones, and many more. Take a look at the wellbeing timetable and find something to suit you.

There is also the first in a series of menopause cafes being hosted by a number of different county councils. Leicestershire County Council, which has been menopause friendly employer for a number of years, is running the first one on Friday 17 October 2025 at 1pm. If you'd like to attend, please contact Heather Williamson for an invitation, email heather.williamson2@derbyshire.gov.uk.

Our Women's Network is holding an online event on Monday 27 October 2025 from 1pm to 2pm. The event will be led by Kiran Kaur from the wellbeing team who will talk about what menopause is and the various support services available to colleagues. Join the session on the day.

And we've arranged for Henpicked – a national training provider specialising in the menopause – to deliver a webinar called 'Let's Talk About Menopause' on Wednesday 29 October 2025 from 10.30am to midday. Find out more and book your place.

You can also take a look at our menopause policy which outlines our commitment to developing a supportive culture for all colleagues experiencing the perimenopause and menopause.
