Monday 21 September

Introduction to Microsoft Teams - 9:30am to 10:30am

If you have no previous experience of using Microsoft Teams then this is the course for you!  It will provide a basic introduction to using Microsoft Teams to communicate and collaborate. Come and find out what you can do with Teams! 

The best of times, the worst of times - 9:30am to 10am

Stuart Aston, Microsoft’s National Security Officer, will present a brief overview of Cyber Security from Microsoft, with some actions for everyone to take away and implement in their organisations or at home.

 New ways of collaborative working - 10:30am to 11am

Gina Knowles (ASCH) will be talking about how MS Teams and associated functionality such as Power Apps have helped in developing new ways of working in response to the departmental transformation work which is currently underway.

Coffee & Questions - 10am to 12 noon

Accessibility for Teams - 11am to 12 noon

Learn how dictation works, how to enable closed captions in meetings, how to create meeting transcripts, and how to tweak the visual settings of Windows and Microsoft Office products.

Choose this course if you are confident in navigating around Microsoft Teams and its basic functionality. We will go beyond the basics to explain how the Microsoft 365 apps integrate in the Teams environment to provide a seamless experience that can improve the way you work.

So you’ve got a manual outdated process (or maybe more than one?!) and you’re wondering how MS Teams and M365 can help you? Bring us your business problems and our panel of experts will show you the art of what’s possible in MS Teams and M365 to help provide solutions. 

Live Events training - 1pm to 1:30pm

How to create and organise a live event. We'll cover the various roles such as Organiser, Producer and Presenters, and explain the difference between organisational and public events.

Microsoft Learning Centre - 2pm to 3pm

An informal drop in session where you'll learn about the content of our Learning Centre, how to navigate around it, request features and an opportunity to ask questions.

Producing a Live Event from your kitchen table -10:30am to 11am

With the need to move to a digital way to provide events the Fostering Team undertook their first Live Teams event in July. However, a Live Teams event needs a producer, Katy Halls (CS) talks about the steep learning curve which felt like being in a TV studio gallery!

COVID-19 and Microsoft Teams - 10:45am to 11:15am

Darren West (ASCH) will give an overview of how Teams and Office 365 Apps were used by the Community Response Unit to enable vulnerable people in Derbyshire to be supported during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Paul Doe, Customer Success Manager - Modern Work from Microsoft, will showcase how Teams can be used as a platform to improve the way we work. The session will include: PowerApps, Learning Pathways App For Teams to customise training/learning content, Company Communicator or Teams to send company wide and targeted communications, FAQBot For Teams, Building / Desk Booking App for Teams and Staff pulse survey app for Teams.

Polly Moore, Customer Success Manager - Modern Work from Microsoft, will focus on the accessibility Features within Windows 10 and Office 365 with a specific focus on features in Microsoft Teams. After showcasing some features Polly will then talk through some support resources which end users can leverage with an opportunity to ask some Q&A.
