Some organisations run surveys that can have 60 to 100 questions, covering all sorts of topics, but we keep ours short so that we can focus on the things that matter most to you and that have a direct impact on your job satisfaction and your commitment to the council.
With the information that we get from your responses we produce reports for each team so you can see whether you are feeling generally happy, motivated and getting the support you need. Then we look at the lower scoring areas and ask why have people answered these questions in a more negative way? This helps managers understand what specific areas to discuss with their team.
If employees are feeling dissatisfied about something, it is important that we acknowledge this and work to resolve these issues.
HR will discuss the results with senior management, but this only takes us so far. The really important part is what happens next – talking to and listening to people. And this is where we need your input.
