Trade union time off - revised agreement

Following consultation with the recognised trade unions we have revised our Trade Union Time Off Agreement.


The main changes are that:

  • the amount of paid time off allocated to each trade union to carry out trade union duties is now based on their membership
  • the individual trade unions will allocate their agreed time off between named representatives
  • the majority of trade union activities will be unpaid

Individual's rights to trade union representation are not affected.

The revised agreement, effective from 1 June 2020 and is subject to review in 6 months' time to assess its effectiveness.
