UK Disability History Month - what is Dysautonomia?

29 November 2024

Regardless of age, gender, ethnicity everyone of us may face health problems in our lifetime, whether you experience those problems yourself or you are offering practical support and care to others.

During UK Disability History Month, we want to make you more aware about a number of health conditions, some well-known others not so.

When considering each of the conditions we are sharing, we hope you will think of practical ways you can help colleagues, family members, friends, and others and become part of developing an inclusive culture in our workplaces.

This week we are putting the spotlight on Dysautonomia which refers to a group of medical conditions that affect the autonomic nervous system, which regulates things like heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, body temperature, and other essential processes that occur automatically without conscious control.
