Update on the 2026/2027 pay award

3 September 2026

The 2026/27 national pay agreement for local government service employees and the Chief Executive has now been agreed.

Here is an outline of how the pay offer will increase Derbyshire pay scales:

colleagues on grades 1/2 to 16 and 21 will receive an increase of 3.3% per annum

in addition, an increase of 3.3% on all flat-rate allowances, which would include payments such as standby, sleep-in and first aid.

The additional salary payment will be backdated to 1 April 2026, and you will receive any back pay you are due in the September 2026 payroll.

The pay award for Chief Officers (grades 17-20) was agreed and paid in August 2026.
