Update on the clinically extremely vulnerable category

19 February 2021

The types of conditions falling under the clinically extremely vulnerable (CEV) category have been changed.

Employees who may previously not have been shielding may now receive a letter advising them to shield. The current guidance to staff who are shielding during lockdown is that you should work from home, and if your work cannot be done from home then stay at home. It may be that the council redeploys staff who cannot work from home to other duties during this period but these will only be duties that you can perform from home.

In light of this, we have reviewed our guidance and pay policy.

Managers are also asked to record employees’ CEV on SAP in the usual way.
