Value deep dive - accountable
7 October 2025
Throughout October, we want to focus on our accountable value!
What does accountable mean?
We define accountable as ‘we hold ourselves and others to account’.
We can all demonstrate being accountable in our everyday behaviours and decision-making.
Listen to how teams have been accountable recently:
- adult social care have a SharePoint list capturing actions from their CQC assessment in order to drive improvement in the areas identified. The list contains numerous columns around the goals needing to be achieved to ensure they are SMART and holding the team to account. They have also included a value column so that the owner of the work can identify the key value they need to focus on to deliver the action. A great example of the importance of the 'what' and the 'how'. Great work!
- graham spencer within the Portfolio Management and Transformation team in CST, is being accountable by continuously reflecting and challenging himself and his team about how they can exceed expectations and deliver the best outcomes for customers by focusing on maintaining a broader strategic perspective. Another example of being accountable!
