What does collaborative mean?
We define collaborative as 'we listen and engage to deliver shared goals'. It means working together, as One Council.
We can all demonstrate being collaborative in our everyday behaviours and decision-making.
Examples of how teams in adult social care and health (ASCH) have been collaborative
Our ASCH mental health team have recently embodied our collaborative value. Paul Emerson has been working with local partners to align, join up and create a shared policy for Derbyshire based on the Right Care, Right Person national framework. In particular, this has started the development of better joint working between the Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) team and the police around the execution of S135 warrants. They have worked together to develop a Right Care, Right Person policy to improve how we respond to people with mental health needs. This was a multi-agency piece of work across Derbyshire involving ourselves, NHS, police, EMAS, and the voluntary sector. Great example of collaborative working!
Our ASCH commissioning team have also recently demonstrated our collaborative value. Claire Gough and team have been working closely with the community in alignment with the national policy building the right support for people with a learning disability and autistic people. They have been creating community support for people with a learning disability and/or autism and have many success stories of working with others to support people to live their best lives, including this storyboard on Dorset House. Another fantastic example of working collaboratively with the community!
