VE Day celebrations raise funds for Combat Stress

To mark the 80th anniversary celebrations of VE Day on Thursday 8 May 2025, our Civic Office hosted a Brew and Bake fundraising event at County Hall.

We are pleased to announce that £400 was raised for Combat Stress – the veterans' mental health charity. For 80 years since VE Day, Combat Stress has helped thousands of veterans overcome military trauma and rebuild their lives.

We would like to thank the Matlock branches of both Sainsbury's and Co-op, who very kindly donated all the cakes, as well as everyone who attended the event which was very well supported.
