Fostering Friendly is a programme designed by The Fostering Network to encourage employers to support fostering and foster carers.
As a member of the Foster for East Midlands Councils regional recruitment group we value the contribution carers make to the lives of the children in our care and we know we have many colleagues who work for us while also carrying out the important job of looking after children as a foster carer.
We recognise these colleagues may need some flexibility in their working arrangements and we’ve launched our Fostering Friendly policy which means they can get paid time off on a discretionary basis for commitments such as training and assessments, attending panels and review meetings.
The policy applies to colleagues who have worked for us for at least 3 months who are applying to become foster carers.
It also applies to colleagues who are already approved foster carers and currently have a child placed with them, or who have had a child placed with them for 75% of the previous 12 months.
Fostering changes lives and we’re always recruiting for new carers.
Could you change a child’s life and your own? You don’t need any special qualifications or experience. Find out more about fostering with us.
