Woodland tribute to COVID victims

29 March 2021

We're keen to get your ideas about creating a woodland tribute to remember and honour the people we have lost because of COVID-19.

We're considering Grassmoor Country Park as a site to create a sustainable memorial that will be a place for people to walk and remember their loved ones, for years to come.

We announced the plans on the anniversary of the first coronavirus lockdown on 23 March 2020 and as the latest figures show there have been 2,140 deaths with COVID-19 in Derbyshire during the pandemic from 47,438 known cases.

We'll share further information about the scheme, and ways you can get involved, over the summer and autumn.
