Working parents urged to apply for 30 hours of funded childcare

18 July 2025

Are you a working parent? You could be eligible for up to 30 hours of funded childcare for your pre-school child.

Eligible working families can apply now for 30 hours a week of childcare from September – up from the existing 15 hours – from the term after their baby turns 9-months-old until they reach school age.

The 30 hours offer is the final phase of the national funded childcare expansion programme designed to help families better balance work and home life – and which the government estimates could save some families up to £7,500 a year.

If you think you may qualify check your eligibility and apply for a childcare code before Sunday 31 August 2025.
